The Lisbon Stage

The Portuguese 7s team participated in the Men’s 7 Championship (formerly known as Grand Prix), that took place in Lisbon, on the 5th and 6th June.
The national team was part of Pool A, together with Georgia, Germany, and Lithuania. Portugal qualified to the quarter finals after beating Georgia (19-10) and Lithuania (26-7) and a defeat against Germany (10-5).
In the quarter finals, Portugal defeated Italy by a clear margin (33-7), ended up losing in the semi-finals against Spain by 38-14.
This stage of the Men’s 7s Championship was won by the Spanish team that defeated Germany in the final by a tight 19-17.
